Edward Dauphin, of Venice, Florida, passed away on December 29, 2021. Edward was born on May 16, 1958,in Brooklyn, New York to Catherine and Edward Dauphin. He grew up as the eldest of five brothers, with two older sisters. Edward enlisted in the Marine Corps in 1976 and proudly served his country overseas in both Paris and Saudi Arabia as a member of the Marine Security Guard Battalion.Edward reached the rank of Sergeant and received the good conduct medal. After earning an honorable discharge, Edward returned to New York and became a correctional officer where he would serve for 29years and reach the rank of Captain. Edward fell in love with his wife Eileen(Red) in Orange County and the two were married in 1986. Edward and Eileen had three children -Kerry, Edward, and Casey. Edward was a devoted father who was extremely proud of each of his children. He was especially proud of his son's, Major Edward Dauphin's success in his career in the Marine Corps. The Dauphin family lived in Upstate New York for 22 years until Edward and his wife retired to Venice, Florida where they enjoyed the beach and going on cruises. Edward dedicated his whole life to his family and enjoyed nothing more than spending time with his wife and children. He was a disciplined and determined man, devoted to his family.He loved the Buffalo Bills, mowing his lawn, and coaching his son’s football team. His strength was unmatched as he fearlessly conquered three kidney transplants while continuing to attend his children's sporting events, vacation in the Outer Banks, and take care of his dog, Molly. Edward’s youngest brother Michael donated his kidney to Edward in 2005. Edward and his family are forever grateful for his brother Mike,who was there to help his brother courageously fight cancer to the very end. Edward is survived by his wife Eileen; his daughter Kerry and husband Jason; his son Eddie and wife Karen; his youngest daughter Casey;and his grandsons Finn and Dash who loved their ""Pop Pop.""Edward will be laid to rest in a military ceremony, performed by the Marine sat Sarasota National Cemetery. He will be in the company of his close family.His family respectfully requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the National Kidney Foundation at www.kidneyfund.org
