Edward "Gene" E Davis

LEXINGTON-Edward E. Davis "Gene" 92 of Lexington was born in Braymer, Missouri May 10, 1922. He departed this life on Thursday, October 16, 2014. He was a dedicated Christian and a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. He was a loving and devoted husband to Fran for 72 years. Gene was a father and grandfather who mixed love with teaching the children by example what it meant to be a responsible hard working adult. He was a man of few words but his actions spoke volumes. He was a veteran, having served his country during World War II in the United States Army, as well a member of the Braymer, Missouri Masonic Lodge. His family laid his body to rest in a family graveside service on Sunday, October 19, 2014. Gene is survived by his devoted wife, Fran Davis; daughter, Sue (Johnny) Mayo of Lexington, SC; son, Ed (Janna) Davis of Pittsboro, NC; five grandchildren, Michael, Christie, Anna, Jennifer (Adam) and Edward (Liz). He was preceded in death by his father, Wesley Dean Davis and his mother, Ida Ellen Dennison Davis; one brother, William Clifford Davis and one sister, Beaulah Laverne "Bea" Rutherford.
