Edwin Walter
June 9th, 1932 - February 8th, 2015
Edwin Earle Walter was welcomed into the loving arms of Jesus early Sunday morning, February 8, 2015 in Centennial Colorado. He was born in Hillsdale Kansas June 9, 1932. Earle was the middle child of five children born to Eugene Franklin and Neva Belle Walter. He was preceded in death by his son David Earle Walter, parents, brothers Robert Eugene Walter and Thomas Leroy Walter. He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years come June 1, daughter Hazel Earlene Coats (Bob), son Gary Alan Walter (Michelle), daughter-in-law Debbie Powell, granddaughter Robin Lynn Zane (Matthew), grandson Randy Walter Coats and great granddaughters Zoey Annabelle and Harper Athena Zane, step granddaughter Cindy Wysocki (Jeff), their sons, Tanner, Trace and Turner, step grandson Ryan Coats and son Jordan, brother Ronald Dayton Walter (Rosemary), sister Elizabeth Ann Taper and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. He was a Navy Veteran of the Korean War. After the Navy he went to work for Western Electric installing telephone equipment in central office in Wyoming and Colorado. When his oldest child became school age he decide to go back to college to get his degree in Electrical Engineering to become less transient. He graduated from Casper Community College and University of Wyoming. He went back to work for Western Electric and upon the breakup of the Bell System he transitioned to AT & T. He retired from AT & T after 33 years of service. After retirement he and Alice enjoyed life fully and traveled extensively. They enjoyed square dancing, golfing, traveling and spending time with family and friends. He was a very devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great Grandfather, Brother, Uncle and Friend. He will be deeply missed. Memorial services: Thursday, February 12, 2015 12:30 p.m. Fort Logan National Cemetery Staging Area B 2:00 p.m. Bethany Evangelical Free Church 6240 S. Broadway Centennial, CO 80121 Light lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers: Contributions to: The American Cancer Society or American Melanoma Foundation
