Eleanor "Gaddis" Finnerty
January 20th, 1923 - November 23rd, 2013
Eleanor (Gaddis) Finnerty, CA, formerly of Arlington, MA, died November 23, 2013. She leaves behind her beloved husband of 58 years, John J. Finnerty, also of Carmel, CA, formerly of Arlington; her children, Kathleen Chanliau of Paris, France, William Finnerty of Arlington, Patricia Rossi of Monterey, Susan Finnerty of Miami, FL and Mark Finnerty and his wife, Lora of Manchester-by-the-Sea, MA; and her cherished grandchildren, Sarah and Timothy Rossi, Vanessa, Pierre and Jessica Chanliau, and Kelly Finnerty. Eleanor was born and raised in Arlington and graduated from Arlington High School. Following high school she worked for MIT and AT&T until she married her husband, John in 1955. Eleanor was a devoted mother and homemaker, raising her five children with her husband in Arlington. Eleanor enjoyed painting, sewing, cooking, baking and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She and her husband, John lived in Arlington until they moved to Carmel in late 2011. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure to have known her. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to participate in a Celebration of Life Service to be held at Ave Maria Chapel on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 9:30am. Burial follows immediately at San Carlos Cemetery.
