Ellen Janette Daniels
May 31st, 1938 - April 11th, 2021
Ellen (Jan) Janette Daniels, age 82, passed away peacefully April 11, 2021 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born May 31, 1938 in North Carolina to Irving and Bernice Stone. She married John Junior Daniels on August 17, 1958. She was preceded in death by her husband John, the former Superintendent of Amherst County Public School and the love of her life. Ellen is survived by her 3 children, daughter Janenne Daniels-Bosher and husband Mark (children Angela and Mark), daughter Janelle Poldy and husband Greg (children Allyson and Matthew) and daughter Jennifer Phillips and husband Jeff (children Gray and Ryan). She is also survived by her brothers Alton Stone and Norwood Stone. Ellen was also blessed in life with many cousins, nephews and nieces. She loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her six grandchildren. The family would like to thank Gentle Shepherd Hospice and Dr. Thomas Eppes for their help and support during this difficulty time. Jan loved people and loved to talk. She loved cooking, knitting and sewing. Her pumpkin pies were famous during the holidays and will be sorely missed. Her life was a living example of her favorite Bible verse, Ephesians 4:32 — “And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.” Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at Diuguid Funeral Home on Timberlake Road from 3:00 to 6:00 pm. The service will be held on April 15, 2021, at 12 Noon at Diuguid Funeral Home on Timberlake Rd. A graveside service to immediately follow at Fort Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either the American Lung Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
