Ellen J. Matthews, 78 of Ocala, passed away Friday, November 5th at Cates House in Ocala. She and her husband Hoyt of 47 years moved to Ocala from Miami where they met while working together in the construction industry. Hoyt predeceased her in 2012. Her interests include computers, quilting, crochet, making blankets to donate, visiting friends, traveling, and First Presbyterian Church of Ocala. Survived by brother; Robert E. Casad of Ohio. Niece; Carol Lloyd, Boise, Idaho, nephews; Alan and Gary Lloyd of Ohio, sister-in-law; Debra Matthews, friends; Jeff and Nancy McDonald, Paul and Val Tayler, Pat Bishop, Janice Kelly, and her many friends from First Presbyterian Church. Gathering 2 – 3PM Friday November 12th with service 3 PM at Hiers-Baxley Funeral Services 910 E. Silver Springs Blvd. Ocala. Interment 11AM Monday November 15th at Hebron Baptist Church Cemetery in Scranton, SC.
