Elmer "Ronnie" Ronnie Barela

Elmer Ronnie Barela, 73, of Denver, entered into God’s kingdom on May 5th, 2024. He was born September 27th, 1950, in San Luis, Colorado to Julia and Ernesto Barela.

Ron, the most loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather is survived by his wife, Dolly; daughters, Amy (Francisco Burciaga) & Kindra (Rob Harris), (predeceased by daughter Lisa); grandson Joshua; granddaughters; Aly, Eva, & Mireya; siblings, Ernest, Zolanda, Carl & Brenda.

Upon graduation from Centennial High School, Ron joined the Air Force to serve his country, which took him around the world. Returning home a proud Vietnam Veteran, Ron married the love of his life, the woman who would stand by his side through thick and thin, Dolly. 

Moving to Denver, Ron tirelessly and faithfully supported his family by working at Coors Brewing Co for 33 years. After retiring, he attended Automotive School graduating Suma Cum Laude. 

Ron had the personality and natural charisma to make friends no matter the situation, and his smile & laugh was infectious to everyone around him. A man of many stories, he could always entertain at family gatherings and celebrations. His love of travel took him with family & friends to Cancun and many tropical locations. 

As a man of true integrity, he focused on providing his wife, children, & grandchildren, with the best life possible & prided himself on helping anyone he could.

Ron was a truly great man of God, whose impact will be forever felt by his family that loves him dearly. He was a selfless man whose passing left an unfillable gap in the hearts of his loved ones. His ability to sacrifice, provide, support, forgive, and love will be forever engrained in all he knew.

A memorial service will take place at 10:15 a.m. on May 21st, 2024, at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, 7400 W. 80th Ave. Arvada, Colorado 80003. Rosary at Spirit of Christ Chapel Monday at 5:00 pm.
