Emory G. West
July 1st, 1923 - September 25th, 2013
Dr. Emory Guth West of Monterey passed away at the CommunityHospital of the Monterey Peninsula on September 25, 2013, his loving wife Beverly by his side. He was 90 years old. Emory was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 1, 1923 to Dr. George and Kathleen West. His father was a dentist and his mother a piano teacher. Emory knew fairly early age that he wanted to be a doctor and studied toward that goal. He also knew as soon as he learned to drive that he wanted his cars to be fast. Both of these wishes came true for him. His practice in radiology took him to Japan during the Korean War and then to a long time practice in Mountainview, California. Emory leaves behind his wife Beverly, a brother George of Henderson, NV, 2 nephews George II of Des Moines, IA. and Dr. Clark West, also a radiologist of Houston, TX, with his wife Victoria and daughter Rabecca. A memorial service honoring Dr. West will be held on Oct. 17, 2013 in at 3 pm in the Vista Room at Parklane Senior Living Community, 200 Glenwood Circle, Monterey, CA. 93940.
