Ethel Reed Trahan
October 30th, 1923 - January 14th, 2014
COLUMBIA- Ethel "Ms. Frenchie" (Reed) Trahan, 90, of Columbia, entered into rest, Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at Palmetto Health Baptist. Born October 30, 1923 in Grand Isle, LA, she was the daughter of the late George Reed, Sr., and Elexima (Encalade) Reed. A dedicated employee at Drake's Restaurant for many years, she retired from Palmetto Health Baptist Hospital Food Services. Mrs. Trahan was a faithful member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, and her entire life she enjoyed cooking for her family, friends and neighbors. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Elson "Frenchie" Trahan, Sr., with whom she shared a devoted and blessed union of more than 29 years; and a brother, George Reed, Jr. Mrs. Trahan is survived by her daughter, Louella T. Myers (Gary); son, Elson Trahan, Jr. (Priscilla); four grandchildren, Farrell Trahan (Dianell), Angel Trahan, Christine Taylor (Ben) and Elson Myers, (Vicky); six great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren; as well as four nieces and nephews. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 P.M., on Friday, January 17, 2014 at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209, with Father Matthew Gray officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the graveside service from 1:00 to 2:00 P.M., at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
