Eugene Lee Olson

Master Sergeant Eugene L. Olson passed away at 12:45am on Tuesday, April 16, 2013.Eugene was born on May 24, 1935, the son of Loren A. Olson and Cecelia B. Olson. Eugene had 2 sisters of which have previously passed before him, Lorraine and Lucille.Eugene was raised in Shawano, Wisconsin where he joined the Air Force after graduating from Shawano High School. There, he met his high school sweetheart, Mary Ellen Fleigle.Eugene was a man if strength, wisdom, and many opinions. He retired from the Air Force after 25 years of service as a Master Sergeant. Eugene and Mary were married on October 8, 1955 and enjoyed 58 years of marriage.Eugene is survived by his wife, Mary E. Olson of Colorado Springs, CO.; 2 daughters, Deborah A. Winston of Delta Junction, AK, and Tina M. Olson of Colorado Springs, CO.; 4 sons, Michael L. Olson of Alamosa, CO, Patrick L. Olson of Colorado Springs, CO. Richard A. Olson of Colorado Springs, CO, Robert J. Olson of Pixo Rivers, CA, and 13 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.Eugene enjoyed many years of talking on the air waves, starting as a Citizens Band single side band enthusiast then later as a Amateur Radio Operator, call sign kc0rl, where he made very many friends.Eugene now walks in heaven with his father, mother, and his 2 sisters.
