Eugene Emery Tuominen
October 27th, 1936 - March 7th, 2023
Eugene Emery Tuominen, 86, of Saginaw, passed away at Brooke Manor where he resided for the last 3 ½ years on Tuesday, March 7, 2023. He was born in Cedar Valley, Minnesota on October 27, 1936, to Arthur and Vienna Tuominen. Eugene was a 1954 graduate of Floodwood High School. He met the love of his life, Lela Heckman and joined hands in marriage in June of 1957. Eugene was the owner of Valley Green Landscaping for many years and sold Christmas trees. Eugene loved landscaping, collecting rocks, gems and creating gem trees. Eugene and his wife, Lela enjoyed wintering in Arizona and babysitting the grandkids and great grandkids. Eugene was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Dale; and his brother, Archie. He is survived by his loving wife, Lela; daughters; Patti (Brian) McIntosh, Nancy Tuominen, Cindy (Eric) Brademan; sons; Dan (Ginny) Tuominen, David Tuominen; grandchildren, Kristin, Kacey, Tyler, Tara, Ashley (Brandon), Trey, Dain (Krista), Jace, Elias and Kai; great grandchildren, BrookeLynn, Danny, Charlotte, Anastacia, and Jaden; sister, Kathy (Dennis) Juusola; brother, Michael (Cindy) Tuominen and nieces, nephews and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Brooke Manor for their wonderful care of Eugene over the years. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Celebration of Life service, Saturday, March 11, 2023 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. A luncheon will follow the service in the Fireside Room of the funeral home. Burial will be in Cedar Valley Cemetery in the spring.
