Evelyn M. Halverson

Evelyn M. Halverson, age 58, a longtime resident of Colorado Springs and Widefield, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 1, 2016 at a local hospital. She was in administration at FedEx, a loving daughter, sister, aunt and friend to many.Evelyn Marie Halverson was born on August 6, 1957 in Frankfurt, Germany to Omar Junior and Waltraud Maria (Wallerius) Halverson. She grew up in an Army family traveling around the globe and was a 1975 graduate of Widefield High School. She then graduated from Pikes Peak Community College. She worked at a law office and Fort Carson... and for the last twenty years, was with the FedEx Corporation. She loved dogs and entered numerous dog show competitions with her canine companions. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her mother and spending time with her many dear friends.She is survived by her parents: Omar and Waltraud Maria Halverson of Widefield; her brother: Rick (Cathy) Halverson of Brookfield, Maryland; her brother-in-law: Amos Serna of Colorado Springs; her aunt: Margot Konrad of Hanau, Germany and her aunt: Bonnie (Lloyd) Erickson of LaCrosse, Wisconsin. She has five nieces, four nephews, and a number of great nieces and nephews. Her dogs: "Mama Baby" and "Boomer" will go to a new family in Canon City.She was preceded in death by her beloved sister, Donna Serna in 2014.Visitation, 12:00PM to 1:00PM, Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Faith Lutheran Church, 315 Security Boulevard, Security, Colorado, 80911. Funeral Services will take place at 1:00PM at the Church and burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery, 1005 S. Hancock Avenue.
