The family will greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Bible Way Church of Atlas Road with entombment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park Mausoleum Everett Ballard, known to his family and friends as "Ted" was born on August 13, 1951, in Ft. Motte, SC, to the late Willie Teen Ballard Brown and George Lee Jamison, Sr. After the death of Mrs. Ballard Brown, he was warmly welcomed and raised by parents Elliott and Ida Jenkins of Ft. Motte, SC, and a special Aunt, Lillian B. Ellis. On Tuesday, June 13, 2017 Ted gained his wings to join our Lord and Savior. He was a graduate of St. John High School Class of 1973 located in Cameron, SC. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United Stated Army where he served his country faithfully for twenty years. After retiring, Ted was employed with Schneider Trucking Company for two years before joining the United States Postal Service where he was employed for twenty years. Ted was an incredible, loving, hardworking, and outgoing soul that knew no strangers. He loved sports, traveling, and more importantly, spending time with family and friends. He is preceded in death by parents, Willie Teen Ballard Brown and George Lee Jamison, Sr., Elliott and Ida Jenkins, and Lillian B. Ellis. He is also preceded by three brothers, Eddie Jenkins, Lavern Jenkins and Titus Brown, Jr. Those left to cherish and share his legacy of love and devotion are his wife, Kathy Ballard; children, Sheron N. Sutton, Aviance D. (Willie) Young, E. Justin Ballard, William E. Ballard, all of Columbia, SC, and Ashley R. Ballard of Lafayette, LA; five grandchildren, Breyana Davenport, Jaquan Davenport of Columbia, SC; Anthony Boudreaux, Alijah Boudreaux, Aron Ballard of Lafayette, LA; four sisters, Karen Brown, Patricia D. Brown of Columbia, SC, Tresia Benjamin of St. Matthews, SC and Queen E. Brown of Bladensburg, MD; seven brothers, Bruce Brown, Patrick D. (Robyn) Brown of Columbia, SC; Earvin (Wanda) Jenkins of Jacksonville, FL, Jerome Jenkins, Milton (Patricia) Jenkins, of St. Matthews, SC, Duane Jenkins of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, and Fredrick C. Jamison of Elkton, MD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
