Fairlee Elizabeth Winfield

October 17th, 1929 - August 3rd, 2023

Fairlee Elizabeth Winfield October 17, 1929 – August 3, 2023 Fairlee Elizabeth Winfield died peacefully on August 3, 2023, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Chicago, IL, just before the beginning of the Great Depression, her parents were Violet Evelyn (Holmes) Rudisil and Walter Weavil Winfield (both deceased). She was very close to her only sibling, Walter William Winfield (deceased). She raised three children, Constance Ann Carroll, William Burke Carroll (deceased), and Juliet Evelyn Carroll and had five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Generous, outgoing, and fun-loving, she made many friends over the years from Japan to Peru to Maine and everywhere in between. Fairlee was a woman ahead of her time. She led an adventurous life filled with travel, music, the arts, hobbies, talents, awards, and academic scholarship. She also displayed tremendous affection for all animals, including the dogs and cats she cared for over the years. Intellectually curious and courageous to a fault, she always exhibited characteristics of a modern woman throughout her life. Fairlee will be missed by everyone who knew her.
