Floyd Louis Olson
February 28th, 1934 - May 10th, 2020
Floyd Louis Olson, 86 of Alborn passed away on Sunday, May 10, 2020 in St. Luke's Hospital. He was born on February 28, 1934 in Alborn to Frank and Edith (Johnson) Olson. He graduated from Alborn School in 1952 and served in the Navy from 1953-1955. Floyd married Karen Nelson in Canyon on February 7, 1959 and together they had three children. Floyd had his own equipment and has enjoyed hauling gravel since 1955. He was also a heavy equipment operator with the Operating Engineers Local 49 for 44 years, retiring in 1999. Floyd was a former member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Local 49ers. He went on the Honor Flight on May 4, 2019. He enjoyed working on equipment and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by his son, Jerry Olson in 1988; brother, Edsel Olson; and parents, Frank and Edith Olson. Floyd is survived by his wife, Karen; his son, Gary (Lori) Olson; and daughter Jodi (John) Bottila; three grandchildren, Cory (Stephanie) Olson, Kyle (Alyssa) Olson, and Johnna Bottila; one great granddaughter, Madisyn with another one due in July; sister-in-law, Sharon (Duane) Putikka; and brother-in-law, Ron (Jan) Nelson; and many many friends.
