Frank A. "Bud" Dietz, 83 of Cloquet passed away on Saturday, May 20, 2017 in his home with his family by his side. He was born October 19, 1933 in Jamestown, North Dakota to Albert and Gladys Dietz. Bud worked at Conwed, Northwest Paper, and retired from Elk River Concrete and Cement in Duluth. At the age of 73, he needed "something to do" so he went to work at the Black Bear Casino Resort as a custodian. Bud was very handy. He enjoyed building things whether it be custom trailers, equipment to help him get the job done, or making things with wood or sheet metal. If it needed fixing, Bud could do it. Bud was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William Dietz; sister, Leona Fall; and nephew, Richard Dietz. He is survived by his four children, Evelyn Dietz of Carlton, Steven Dietz of Carlton, Bruce (Vicki) Dietz of Owatonna; and Debra (Matthew Pajuoja) Hansen; four grandchildren, Robert Hansen III, Amber Grindle, Brittney Peters and Amber Peters; five great grandchildren; Trinity and Landon Klinger, Kiahna and Gavin Ward, and Brayden Christopherson. Visitation: 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 23, 2017 in the Atkins Northland Funeral Home. Family graveside services will be Wednesday, May 24th in Maple Grove Cemetery.
