Frank Moulin
January 5th, 1920 - June 12th, 2006
Frank “Papa” Moulin, 86, local Venice businessman, beloved father and grandfather, died June 12, 2006 with his wife and family at his side. Born January 5, 1920 in Wheeling, W. Virginia, the son of Wilma and Ed Moulin, he served four years in the Army during WWII. In 1951 Frank founded Alumo Mfg. with his brother Edward (deceased), to manufacture aluminum windows, storm doors, and later garage doors. In 1971 he was the founder of Omega Garage Doors with his son Richard in Youngstown, OH and in 1977 expanded to Venice, FL where his son James later joined him. Omega had over eleven branches and 220 employees. Mr. Moulin retired in 1995. Frank’s career was as a savvy businessman, but his passion was his family. Frank is survived by his wife Dorothy (Altier-Buonpane), three children: James Buonpane of Englewood, Richard Buonpane of Englewood, and Debbie Scott of Venice. A daughter, Joanne Buonpane Scianna died in 1997. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, Beth Angell, Lisa Buonpane, Heidi Aeppli, Amy Spath, Gina Buonpane, Jimmy Scott, Alexandria Scianna, Justin Scott and two great-grandchildren, Ryan Angell and Jakob Aeppli. There will be a Memorial Gathering at Farley Funeral Home, Venice Chapel, on Friday, June 16th at 1:30 PM. The family asks that donations be made to Tidewell Hospice and Palliative Care, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, FL 34238 in lieu of flowers.
