Frank Benjamin Perkins
February 2nd, 1964 - October 26th, 2014
Franklin Benjamin Perkins Jr. was born February 2, 1964 at Kincheloe AFB, Michigan to Franklin Benjamin Perkins Sr. of Belleview, FL, and the Late Eleanor Perkins of Lake Helen, FL. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Stephanie of 30 years, two daughters (Franchesca and Brittney), four Sons (Antione, Matthew, Christopher and Johnathon) all of Salinas, California. He is survived by his father Franklin B. Perkins Sr., sister, Monique Perkins, his brothers; Michael Perkins, Jeffrey Perkins, and Gregory Perkins and many nieces and nephews, as well as all his loving in-laws. Frank enlisted with the United States Army as a Heavy Wheel Duty Mechanic. He served a brief term in Fort Huachuca, Arizona. He received an honorable discharge because of a medical condition. Years later he moved his family to Point Lobos State Reserve in Carmel, California where he worked for State Parks as a Park Maintenance Worker. Frank's commitment to safe trails and handicap beach access won him a Humanitarian award in 1997. He was very proud of this award. It warmed his heart to see senior citizens sitting on a park bench overlooking the ocean, or children running along the trails. Beyond State Parks, Frank volunteered countless hours in the community. He coached baseball, softball, basketball and youth football. He loved football. Early in life while playing sports he acquired the name "The Bull." The Bull was a powerhouse of speed and strength. If you got in his way you better move. When "The Bull" moved to Carmel he thought it would be cool to have a youth football program where kids could learn the fundamentals of football and be competitive. In 1998 Frank & Stephanie Perkins founded Carmel Panthers Youth Football. The organization is a feeder program to the local high schools. Frank you will be deeply missed. Thank you for your service to Monterey County. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 8th at 11 a.m. at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey. A Celebration of Life will follow at Hilton Garden Inn Monterey, 1000 Aguajito Rd., Monterey.
