Fred Eba Merritt, 90, of Lexington SC passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, May 26, 2016. Mr. Merritt was born June 10 1925 in Birmingham AL. He worked as a building contractor and retired from Estes at the age of 80. He was a long time member of Christ's Sanctified Holy Church. He was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Louise Collins Merritt. Survived by, 4 daughters Linda Lamons (Bodie), Sandy Samuels (Raymond), Cathy Camp (Bill), and Debby Merritt. He had 8 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild who adored him. He was preceded in death by his parents Tim and Mae Vaughn Merritt and one sister, Dorothy Collins. Visitation is scheduled Friday May 27, 2016 at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church located at 823 Jackson St, West Columbia, SC from 6 to 8. The visitation at Christ's Sanctified Holy Church in Perry, GA will be on Saturday, May 28 from 6-8 PM. The funeral will be Sunday, May 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Harry Collins and Reverend Gary Collier will be officiating.
