Frederick Hunter, 79, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on April 23, 2018 at Richland Memorial Hospital. He was born on August 15, 1938 to Marshall and Louise Hunter. Fred is survived by his wife Sonya; sons, Jeff (Janet) Hunter and Tim (Tammie) Hunter; his grandchildren, Tiffany (Charles) Hunter- Prescott, Corey Hunter (fiancée Alyssa), Sara Hunter, and Link Hunter (fiancé Lydia.); and his great grandchildren, Aurora Prescott, Genevieve Prescott, and Nicholas Prescott. He is also survived by his siblings: sister, Patsy (Jeff) Hunter, and brothers; Pat (Barb) Hunter and Marlin (Carman) Hunter. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Marshall and Louise Hunter. The family will receive friends at Windsor United Methodist Church on Thursday April 26, 2018 from 1pm-2pm. Funeral services will be held following the visitation also at the church. Entombment will be held following the funeral service at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, South Carolina 29209. Reverend Stephen D. Gaither will perform the services. Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park is in charge of the arrangements. Family and friends may sign the online guest book at www.thompsonsfuneral.com.
