Gabrielle "Gabbiee" Chloe' Swainson
June 26th, 1997 - August 8th, 2013
Gabrielle Chloe´ Swainson, 16, of Columbia, SC was welcomed home by the Daddy that she knew very well, our Almighty Father and Creator of Heaven and Earth. The horrific event of August 18, 2012, that ultimately claimed Gabbiee's life has impacted the lives of many. It is without a doubt, that our Mighty God has received the Glory in ways that most are unable to see. While we (the immediate family, church family, work family, friends and community) waited patiently with great expectation for what we believed to be the absolute best outcome, Our Loving Father, the All Knowing, All-Seeing, Ever-Present God who knows what is best and knows the beginning and the end of all things received Gabbiee into a place of glory where only peace, love and happiness exist. His thoughts are not our thoughts and His ways are not our ways (Isaiah 55:8, 9). Although Gabbiee's life expired at a young age, she lived a full life through her love for the arts. It became her peace and comfort. It became her joy and laughter. It was her strength and courage. She expressed herself through singing, dancing, drawing, writing letters and fictional stories, texting with her friends and more recently returning to her passion of playing the guitar. All of these extracurricular and leisure activities were performed in excellence while she continued to maintain her honor roll status. Although Gabbiee was already involved in several activities, her ambitious spirit led her to try out for the Ridgeview High School cheerleading squad. With persistence, she became a member of the squad for her upcoming sophomore year. Gabbiee was a member of the LM Atkinson South Carolina Federated Club. She performed with Columbia City Jazz and participated in many competitions. She took classes at Southeastern Ballet and performed at the Columbia International Festival. She danced with Hathalah Meihadash dance group at age five (5) and danced at her church, Right Direction Church International. She took gymnastics classes early on at All Star Gymnastics and later with Flip City and Carolina Crossfire Cheer. She began guitar and voice lessons at Dent Middle, where she was also chosen to be a member of the Tri-M Music Honor Society. She continued to develop her musical talent at GMG Music Studio and took private guitar lessons at Star Music Company. Additionally, Gabbiee modeled with Shaw's Model and Talent Center at age five (5) and returned to it with DeAbreu Modeling Agency. Although we will miss her every day, especially her beautiful eyes, beautiful smile and sense of style, she will forever remain in our hearts. Our immediate family is proud of Gabrielle's achievements and we are privileged to have created wonderful memories to hold onto throughout the minutes, days and years to come. Gabbiee is survived by her loving mother, Elvia Swainson ; Javier Swainson (Uncle) of Columbia, SC; Mario Swainson (Uncle) and Tara Swainson (Aunt) of Marietta, GA; Esmirna Wylie (Aunt) and Jeff Wylie (Uncle) of Tampa, FL; Javier Daley (Uncle) and Saida Daley (Aunt) of Hutto, TX; Cousins: Mario Swainson, Jr., Cody Hardy, Sherida Williams, Brianna Wylie, Phillip Wylie, Michael Wylie, Blake Swainson, Kierston Swainson, Shaniqua Daley and Javier Daley. Also, survived by Alvin Thompson (Father) of Virginia; Edna Thompson (Paternal Grandmother) and a host of paternal siblings and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Sherida Wilmot (1972); great-grandmother, Muriel Veronica Bodden (2002); great-great grandmother, Clover Louisa Smith (2011) and Giorgio, Gabbiee's dog (2012). We Entrusted Gabrielle Chloe' Swainson's Care To
Greenlawn Memorial Park
Greenlawn Memorial Park is one of Columbia's most historic perpetual care cemeteries. This gorgeous setting combines serenity, natural beauty, and diligent care for generations of families. North Lake, located in the center of our park, offers a water feature and is the site of many local events, including an annual Easter sunrise service, a Greenlawn tradition for over 50 years. The park also has a veteran's section, private family estates, a columbarium with niches for cremated remains, and an incredible granite mausoleum....
