Garris Powell Zeigler, 64, of Columbia, South Carolina passed away on his birthday, November 16, 2017. He was born on November 16, 1953 in Columbia, South Carolina to Garris Powell and Margaret Bernice Smith Zeigler. Garris is survived by his sisters, Fahey Zeigler Lundy (Jimmy), Clayton, NC and Janie Zeigler Lowery (Elton), Columbia; nieces , Kristina Martinez ( Cruz), Kenly, NC, Shannon Alvarado (Pablo), Apex, NC, Michelle Colwell (Joe), West Columbia. Samantha Osborne (James); nephew Scott Osborne, Socastee, SC. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins and a very special uncle, Uncle "Jimmy" James F. Zeigler, West Columbia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Garris Powell and Margaret Bernice Smith Zeigler; nephew, Elton Lowery, Jr. The family will receive friends at Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn on Sunday, November 19, 2017 from 1:30 p.m. - 2:30 p.m., with a funeral service immediately following. Interment will be at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Joe Colwell, Junior Davis, Chris Webb and David Tabor. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or American Diabetes Association.
