Gary Giddens, 75, of White Springs, FL passed away on October 12, 2024 at HCA Lake City Hospital. Born on April 27, 1949 in Jacksonville, GA to Grover and Gertrude Giddens. Gary worked as an electrician for 55 years, primarily at Control Design Electrical Contractor in Lakeland, FL, retiring in June 2014. He proudly served as a veteran in the Army National Guard and Army Reserve, achieving the rank of Sergeant before his honorable discharge. Gary was a devoted member of the Stillwater Christian Life Center in Haines City, FL. 

Gary's passions included painting figurines made from pecan resin, crafting knives, and relishing in travel and beach adventures. His family held a special place in his heart, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Known for his warm demeanor, respectfulness, and sociable nature, Gary was cherished for his kindness and generosity among friends from his church community. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Grover and Gertrude, and siblings, Ethylene Massey, Rudell Boykin, Pauline Cordell, and Debbie Davis. Gary is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Debbie Giddens; son, Corey Giddens and wife Kari of Madison, GA; daughter, Leslee Statler and husband, Allen of Hoskins, Nebraska; siblings, Wilene Durden of Sebring, FL, Vondell Woodard and husband, Doug of Lake Alfred, FL, Betty G. Martin of Haines City, FL, James Giddens and wife Ruth of Indiana, Claudie Cordell, and David Glen Giddens of Eagle Lake, FL; grandchildren, Riley, Jacob, and Julia Nettleton, Lacee, Carley, and Kara Giddens, and Chloe Raines; great-grandchildren, Westin and Mabri Giddens; and his beloved pets, Bubba and Sister.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 19, 2024 at 10 am, followed by a funeral service at 11 am, both at Oak Ridge Funeral Care in Haines City, FL. Interment will take place at Forest Hill Cemetery. 

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, ASPCA, or to Veterans organizations.
