Gary Wayne Strauss
November 15th, 1957 - September 23rd, 2024
Gary Wayne Strauss, 66, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, passed away on September 23, 2024, at home, with his wife by his side. He was born to the union of Doug and Rose Strauss on November 15, 1957, in Shawano, Wisconsin.
Gary graduated from Mitchell High School in 1975, and he spent his career as a business owner in the automotive industry and as a Project Manager in highway construction. In his free time, he loved to go hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and working on cars. He also enjoyed racecars, driving in the mountains and spending time with his family.
Gary was a loving husband and best friend to Susan for 38 years. He was also a devoted and avid hockey dad to son Andrew.
He is preceded in death by his parents Doug and Rose Strauss and brother Bob Strauss.
He leaves to cherish his memories to his wife Susan; son, Andrew; father-in-law, Ray Smotrilla; mother-in-law, Jan Smotrilla; siblings Dale (Debbie) Strauss and Dawn (Dan) McMullan. He leaves behind sisters-in-law, Kelly (Alan) Eliason and Teri (Aaron) DeBellis, along with 6 nieces and 5 nephews.
He will be missed dearly by all.
A memorial service will be held at Cherry Valley Community Church (9125 E. Greenland Rd, Franktown, CO 80116) on Friday, October 11th, 2024, at 10:30AM.
