George Dickey of Davenport, Florida passed away on March 6, 2017 at his residence. He was 75. George was born on August 20, 1941 to John Edward Dickey and Evelyn Mauch Dickey in Raritan, New Jersey and moved to Davenport in 2002 from Roselle Park, New Jersey. He was a retired electrician with Exxon Mobile Corp. after some 30 years of services. After retirement George went to work at the Lowe's in Haines City in the electrical departtment. George was a proud member of the US Navy serving during the Vietnam War. He was predeceased by his parents and son, Kevin Evans. George is survived by his wife, of 40 years, Linda Dickey; son Edward Evans and his wife Dawn of Milford, CT; daughters, Nancy Dickey and Laura Dickey, both of Davenport, FL; sisters, Katherine Massari of Toms River, NJ, Beth Elton of Keyport, NJ; sisters-in-law, Nancy Thorn, Janine Cattleman, both of Davenport, FL; grandchildren, Mylinda, Jessica, Mackenzie, Dalton, Nelson and great grandchildren, Piper and Quinn. A visitation will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 from 3:00 pm until the funeral at 4:00 pm at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Haines City with Pastor Joel Johns of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Davenport, FL officiating.
