George Dewey Rauch, Sr. Columbia, SC A funeral service celebrating the life of George Dewey Rauch, Sr., 88, of Columbia will be held at 12p.m. on Thursday, July 22, 2010 at Pine Bluff Baptist Church with interment to follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 10a.m. until the hour of the service on Thursday at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Pine Bluff Baptist Church, 1025 Pineview Drive, Columbia, SC 29209. Mr. Rauch passed away on Monday, July 19, 2010. He was born on December 17, 1921 in Lexington, SC to the late Joseph Wesley Rauch and Cora Lee Steele Rauch. Mr. Rauch was a charter member of Pine Bluff Baptist Church and he was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Rauch retired from Fort Jackson Army Base as a Post Engineer. He had a great love for fishing and farming. Mr. Rauch was predeceased by his former wife, Artie Cleave Corder Rauch; his brothers, Joe Rauch, James Albert? Pete? Rauch, Sr., Rudolph Rauch; and sisters, Rose R. Graham and Louise R. Smith. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife of 57 years, Doris Corder Rauch; daughters, Dorothy R. (Paul) Threatt and Linda R. (Mike) Lown; sons, George Dewey Rauch, Jr. and John Wesley ?J.W.? (Sheila) Rauch; a sister, Evelyn R. Spires; brothers, Bobby Rauch, Leonard (Wanda) Rauch, Claude ?Buddy? Rauch; grandchildren, Robert & Allison Threatt, Jerrell Rauch, Kristie Lown, Lisa L. (Roy) Bailey, Denise R. (Chris) Godwin, John Rauch, Melissa Rauch, Greg Rauch and Jeremy Rauch; 8 great-grandchildren. The family has entrusted Greenlawn Funeral Home with the arrangements.
