George Stahl
December 15th, 1944 - October 31st, 2017
George Carl Stahl Jr. passed away on October 31, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was surrounded by many family members that love him very much. George was born on December 15, 1944, in Denver, Colorado to George Carl Stahl Sr. and Imogene Cleaver. He graduated from South High School in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1962, and graduated from the U.S. Naval School – Great Lakes, Illinois in 1963. George joined the Navy in 1963 and was part of the 7th Fleet aboard the USS Princeton during the Vietnam War. He served until 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969. He received several medals during his service. He was very proud to serve his country. Upon return from the war, George worked at Samsonite in Quality Control and Manufacturing. He worked there until 1998. At this time his department was shut down and he was forced into early retirement. It was here that he met the love of his life, Dianne Watkins. George and Dianne were married on June 28, 1969, and made their home together in Aurora Colorado. It was here that they welcomed their first child, Carla Lynn Stahl in 1972. In 1975, they moved to Westminster, Colorado and welcomed their second child, Christy Lee Stahl in 1976. Tired of the city life, George moved his family to Elizabeth, Colorado in 1978. It was here that they welcomed their third child, George Carl Stahl III in 1981. This is where they made their forever home and raised their three children. After Samsonite closed their manufacturing facility, George worked for the Douglas County School district until he fully retired in 2012. George was an amazing provider for his family and the first person to lend a helping hand to anyone that may need it. He was self-sacrificing, strong, silent and larger than life. He lived his life to the fullest and was a truly honorable man. We will strive to be like him each and every day. He is loved very deeply. He loved his family more than anything but also loved the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies, and his Harley Davidson Edition Ford F150 truck. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, poker, and fantasy football, but his absolute favorite past times were camping and fishing. Many summer days and nights were spent at Eleven Mile State Park with his family. Words can’t even explain how much George will be missed!! George is survived by his best friend and wife of 48 years, Dianne Stahl, and his loving children Carla Lynn Stahl (Bill Davis), Christy Lee Stahl (Clay Jarman), and George Stahl. His grandchildren, Kyle Dakota Zimmerman, Joshua Cole Davis, Sydney Grayson and Cassie Jarman. His sister, Carol Germer, nephews Woody Pratt, Wes Germer and Greg Germer. He was predeceased by his parents, George and Imogene Stahl. *Our lives will never be the same ~ the presence of your absence is everywhere*
