Geraldine Sue Vasquez

Geraldine Sue Vasquez (Atencio) died on November 19th, 2019. Geraldine was born in Denver on December 2nd, 1947 to Anthony and Susana Atencio, the third oldest of six children; Anthony (Kathy) Atencio, John (Tammy) Atencio (passed in 2017), Gloria Atencio, Janette Atencio (Dannie Farris), and Ann (Steve) Lawson. Geraldine grew up in South Denver and spent her childhood dancing and spending time with family and friends. Geraldine attended Englewood High School. She worked at Mount Bell through the conversation to Quest and later to CenturyLink, which is where she met Ronald Vasquez. She retired from Century Link on September 16, 1997. She married Ronald Vasquez at Church of Christ Denver, CO on October 24th, 1982. Geraldine is survived by her children Jessica (Jeffrey) Reese and Anthony Trujillo, as well as by her grandchildren Andrea (Joshua) Wulf, Corey (Maygen) Reese, Jordan Florentz-Trujillo, Khristianna Trujillo, Andrew Marquez, Jordan Marquez, Natalie Marquez and Zechariah Marquez and two great-grandchildren. Geraldine was, first and foremost, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She adored her "babies" and would regularly enjoy spending quality time together just putting together a puzzle, playing games, or watching T.V. She never took for granted time with family. She was an avid BINGO player and could regularly be found at the BINGO parlor with her friends and sisters. Geraldine was always rebellious and silly. She could get anyone's life story while out and about and would attempt to keep secrets but would just share them herself given the chance. She loved all and will be sorely missed by all those who knew her.
