Gloria J. Hampton

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Gloria Jennifer Hampton, of Auburndale, on December 5, 2021. Gloria was born in Winter Haven, FL to LaDon J. Jones and Lazell Granger Jones on October 23, 1947. In 1965, she met the love of her life, Boyd, in Winter Haven and were married, finally settling in the town of Auburndale, FL, in 1980. They spent 52 years together building a wonderful life with 3 children until Boyd’s passing in 2017. To her family, she was known as “Nonna”. She will always be remembered for her excellent skills in the kitchen where she often prepared each family member’s favorite treat! She loved cooking, shopping and home decorating and she was superb at all three. Nonna was loving and kind hearted and true in her faith in God. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother spoiling the children as often as she could. She will be forever remembered by her 3 children; Gregory Hampton (Debbie) of Auburndale, FL, Kimberly Hesters (Steve)of Auburndale, FL, and Shannon Strickland (Dennis) of Jupiter, FL, Her 5 grandchildren; Ashley Miller (Chris) of Mount Dora, FL , Taylor Roan (Justin) of Auburndale,FL , Morgan Hampton of Auburndale, FL, Logan Strickland of Jupiter, FL, Rachel Hampton of Auburndale, FL and 3 great-grandchildren; Colton, Braylee and Camden. She also leaves behind her sister Gail Johnson of Maggie Valley,NC, and brother, Louis Jones (Pam) of Franklin,TN and many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Boyd and her brother, LaDon (Donnie) Jones Jr. of Winter Haven, FL.
