Gordon R. Miranda, age 71, of Venice, Florida, passed away on April 30, 2019. He was born on February 2, 1948 in New Bedford, Massachusetts. Gordon relocated to Venice, Florida from Fairhaven, Mass in 2004. He was member of the Elks and a former member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Fairhaven. Gordon was an extremely hard worker and loved to help people. He is survived by his wife, Joni of Venice; a daughter, Heather Miranda Harris of Venice; a brother, Shawn Miranda of Fairhaven, MA and a nephew, Shawn Miranda, Jr of Mattapoisett, MA. Gordon also leaves behind his granddaughter, Ella Harris who was his pride and joy. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Laura Miranda. A memorial mass will be held at 10:00AM on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Venice. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice, 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota, Florida 34240. Farley Funeral Home in Venice is handling the arrangements.
