Harold Lee "Harold Honey" Hite, Jr. Funeral services for Harold Lee Hite, Jr., 80, of Lexington, will be held at 11:30 AM, Saturday, October 15, 2016 in the Chapel of Thompson Funeral Home of Lexington, 4720 Augusta Road, Lexington. Pastor Ralph Schneck will officiate. Interment will be private. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Mr. Hite passed away in comfort, and in the presence of his family, Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his residence, following a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's disease. Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late Harold Lee and Etta Browder Hite. "Harold Honey" was a long standing member of First Baptist Church of Lexington, where he was an usher and a member of the Faith Builder's Sunday School Class for many years. He enjoyed playing golf, and working in his yard. "Harold Honey" owned several businesses prior to opening Rosewood Radiator Service in Columbia, which was operated for many years with the help of his long-time employee and dear friend, Ronald Black. He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Bennie Collingwood Hite; children, Connie Hite Allen (Jackie); Tommy Booth (Barbara); Richard Booth (Barbie); Cheryl Booth Fitts; grandchildren, Christine Allen Lekovich (Jimmy), Amanda Allen Volz (Tommy), Katie Booth Kitchen (Brandon), Benjamin Booth (Jessica), Whitney Booth, Austin Fitts Jones (Cam), Devin Fitts, Michelle Allen Foster (Slade); eight great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Pauline Arnold, Jeanette Davis (Steve); grandson, Ben Allen. The family would like to thank Jack Haywood for his loving care, and Tommy and Barbara Booth for their constant love and attention. In lieu of sending flowers to the funeral home, please send flowers (in Harold's honor) to someone you love. Memorials may be made to the South Carolina chapter of the Alzheimer's Association, 4124 Clemson Blvd., Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
