Oak Ridge Funeral Care - Haines City
Harry Marvin Levins
November 19th, 1935 - June 30th, 2019
HARRY MARVIN LEVINS, JR. of Haines City, went to be with Jesus in his eternal home, early Sunday morning, June 30, 2019, at Heart of Florida Hospital Haines City, with his "precious girl", Virginia, his son Michael and his sister, Shirley Jarriel, by his bedside. He was 83. He will be missed beyond words by Virginia, his wife of 56 years; son Michael Joseph, Auburndale; brother, Glenn, Belle Glade; sister Shirley Jarriel (Wayne), Pahokee; sister-in-law, Mary Greenlee, Haines City, his Harris brothers-in-law: Bill (Peggy), Haines City; Richard (Renee), Alabama; Eddie, Clayton, Alabama; and 'Bo' (Catherine), Haines City. He was the favorite uncle to a host of nieces and nephews and enjoyed many special friendships through the years. Harry was predeceased by his parents, Ami and Marvin Levins. He was a proud Veteran of the United States Air Force. Harry was a graduate of Pahokee High School, where he played basketball and football, continuing his education at Palm Beach Junior College in West Palm Beach. He and Virginia lived in Tallahassee for 17 years, where they became rabid FSU fans. (Go 'Noles!) He was very active in church and prison ministries while in Tallahassee and was recently a member of Ridge Community Church of God, Dundee, FL. Harry was an avid fisherman and spent countless hours fishing with family and friends, he especially enjoyed his pontoon boat when they lived on Lake Lanier in Forsyth County, Georgia, but his wife was his favorite fishing buddy and was usually in the boat alongside of him. He also loved hunting and was very proud of the 12-point buck he bagged in Georgia. Above all, Harry loved his Lord and reaading the Word of God, having read through the Bible many times. To say that he will be missed is an understatement. But we know without a doubt that he is enjoying the beauties of heaven and the glad reunion with those who have gone before him. Funeral services will be held at Ridge Community Church of God, Dundee, FL with Viewing at 11:00 am, Celebration of Life at 12 noon on Wednesday, July 3, 2019.
