Ms. Hattie Mae Toney was born to the late Julia Mae Harris and Gus Gray on November 27, 1929 in Birmingham, Alabama. Hattie M. Toney was an active member in the community helping at many different churches and The Soup Kitchen all while living in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She became an ordained minister and she shared her love and faith for the Lord with all those that were around and touched the hearts of so many near and far away. For most people, they were always able to reach her on what we all knew as "The prayer line" at any given time, day or night, and knew that Ms. Hattie M. Toney, also known as "Mama Hattie", would give an uplifting prayer and words of encouragementThe wonderful woman we all have been blessed to know and love over the years of her being on this earth will always and forever be remembered Her life will live on through her children; daughter, Paula J. Toney, and son, Sauder Fate, both of Birmingham Alabama, and sons, Ethan (Tawanna) Toney, Anthony Toney, and Karl Toney, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado. Special sons and daughter: Allen Covington, Preston (Rita) Collins, Sr., and Minister Josephine Harris. Her grandchildren; Michelle (Charles) Toney, Carla (Lawrence) Patterson, Gabrielle Toney, and Anthony Shannon, all of Colorado Springs, Colorado, and Tequeshia Toney and Lequan Toney of Birmingham, Alabama; along with ten great-grandchildren and a host of devoted friends and family.
