Helen Lois Morse, 82 of Meadowlands died Sunday, March 12, 2006 in Lakeshore Lutheran Home, Duluth surrounded by her family. She was born on September 21, 1923 in Comstock, NE the daughter of Simon and Aloisie (Vosicka) Johanek. Helen married Clyde Morse on October 31, 1942. Over the years she worked at Chun King, Cluett Peabody Shirt Factory, Jeno's and the Meadowlands Co-op Store. She and her husband, Clyde also farmed in Meadowlands. Helen was a wonderful gardener and she won 1st place for her garlic dill pickles in the 2001 MN State Fair. She was involved for many years with the Meadowlands Fair, operating the food booth with her family. Helen enjoyed cooking and baking, playing cards, bowling and she was an avid sports fan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde in 1998; brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Emma Johanek; and sister-in-law, Jeanne Johanek. Helen is survived by her children, Phillip (Kaylyn Ento) Morse of Tacoma, WA, Clyde (June) Morse of Meadowlands, Kathy (Randy) Anderson of Cloquet, Barb (Fred) Griswold of North Branch, MI, JoAnne (Jim) McMillan of Duluth; grandchildren, Chris (Ann) Griswold of North Branch, MI, Melissa (Chad) Titzer, of Evansville, IN, Sherry Anderson, of Duluth, Sarah Anderson of Zionsville, IN, Kevin Anderson of Zionsville, IN, Scott (Melissa) Morse of Alborn, Derek (Nicole) Morse of Meadowlands, Stacy Morse of Meadowlands, Tanya McMillan of Duluth; great grandchildren, Alyssa Anderson, Abby Almer Morse, Zachary Morse, Noah Titzer, and Jacob Morse; brother, Simon Johanek of Meadowlands; sister, Mary (Charles) Karasek of Meadowlands; cousins, Stanley Vosicka and Rose Nemacek, both of Omaha, NE; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 14, 2006 from 6-8 p.m. in Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th St., Cloquet. Memorial services will be Wednesday, March 15, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. in First United Methodist Church in Meadowlands. Memorials preferred to the American Lung Association.
