Helen J. Stork, 86, of Fort Atkinson passed away on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at her home. Helen was born on September 14, 1937 to Willis and Ruth (Morgan) Boyd. Upon graduation from high school, Helen continued to beautician school. On May 11, 1957 Helen married William Stork Jr., and together they had five children. Helen assisted William on their family farm. When her children were older, Helen went into the workforce, cooking at various restaurants. She owned and operated Helen’s Bar and Grill from 1994 until 2003. She then continued working by caring for people in various areas of the state and Minnesota, until retiring fully in 2015. Helen enjoyed watching NASCAR and football and was an avid Brewer Fan. She also enjoyed cooking and playing Euchre. Helen is survived by her children, Susan Stork of Lake Mills, Laura (Kevin) Bigelow of Fort Atkinson, Stuart Stork of Fort Atkinson, Sherry (Mark) Real of Cambridge, Cheryl Clavey of Whitewater; grandson, Clint (Jenny) Stork; sisters, Dorothy Peich, Mildred Stork; many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Willis and Ruth Boyd; husband, William Stork Jr.; grandchildren, Jessie Ostrander, Richard Stork; brother, John Boyd; sisters, Nancy Gothard, Mary Paynter and Carol Drays. A funeral service will be held at 11AM on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at Nitardy Funeral Home in Fort Atkinson. A visitation will take place from 9AM until the time of service. A burial will take place at Lakeview Cemetery immediately following the service. In Helen’s name, donations can be made to Rainbow Hospice Care in Jefferson. The family would like to give special thanks to Rainbow Hospice staff for their exceptional care for Helen.
