CAYCE—Funeral services for Henry Levi Richburg, Jr., 83, of Cayce, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, August 9, 2013 at Thompson Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Rev. Jewel Jeffcoat and Rev. Robert Ward officiating. Burial will follow in Celestial Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the hour of the service at the funeral home. Known to his friends and family as "Junior", he was a faithful servant of Christ. He passed from this life into Gods hands on August 5, 2013. He enjoyed playing and singing Bluegrass Gospel music with family and friends. He was a member of the Bluegrass Gospel Connection and also served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a retired truck driver and attended Westside Holiness Church. Born June 13, 1930 in Foreston, SC, he was the son of the late Henry Levi Richburg, Sr. and Dessie Hodge Richburg. Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Betty Alsbrooks Richburg; daughters, Debbie Whetstone (Ronnie) and Cindy Strother (Tommy). He had four granddaughters, Mandy, Amy, Misty and Tonya; six great-grandchildren, Matthew, Andrew, Chance, Bailey, Leland and Jaden. He was predeceased by his son, Eric Richburg and a great-grandson, J.T. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association of SC, PO Box 11454, Alexandria, VA 22312.
