Holly Morgan Fisher, 46, died unexpectedly on February 11, 2017. She was born on July 8, 1970, in Schenectady, N.Y. and was raised in North Port from the age of two. She is survived by her three beautiful children Brooke, Summer, and Auggie, as well as her husband Jason Chase Fisher. She is survived by her parents, Ed and Joan Morgan of North Port, FL, her brother Kevin Morgan (Mandy) of Orlando, FL and nephews and nieces, Koby and Jaden Morgan, Micah, Gideon, and Lydia Fisher. Holly Morgan Fisher was a widely beloved woman who left the world too soon. The impact of the love that she showed to so many people will be felt for many years to come. Her legacy began to shine while attending Venice High School from 1984-1988. She served as a member and secretary of the Drama Club, the Key Club, the Newspaper Staff, the Spanish Club, Thespians, Rainbow Girls, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, member of the Homecoming and the Prom Courts, and the Letterman Club. Holly served on Student Government as a freshman, Treasurer of the sophomore class, and became the Vice-President of Student Government during her senior year. She received a special invitation to the Presidential Classroom in Washington D.C. to celebrate her outstanding service. She attended the Girls State Conference. Holly earned numerous honors such as Academic All American Scholar, the Hugh O'Brian Leadership Conference, Peace Essay Contest Finalist, and Who's Who in American High Schools. Her love of sports developed in high school as well. She was a member of the Junior Varsity Softball Team, the Track Team, and a member of the Junior Varsity and Varsity Cheerleading Squads. She was named Most Valuable Cheerleader in 1986. Holly was an outstanding swimmer in North Port, and was the student organizer of the North Port Roos. She continuously won annual awards for the freestyle, butterfly, backstroke, and the breast stroke. She created and started the first softball league in North Port. It came as no surprise when Holly was named Most Outstanding Senior in 1988. Her service, dedication, and academic scholarship was unparalleled. Holly continued higher education at the University of Georgia where she earned a BA in Educational Psychology in 1992. As the tug on her heart became stronger, she pursued her teaching degree in History. With much excitement, she received her certification to teach middle school and high school. Following her graduation from University of Georgia, Holly went on staff with Campus Crusade for Christ. Wanting to help everyone, and deeply believing in the Lord, she was determined to make the world a brighter place. As part of the campus ministries at the University of Florida she met the love of her life, Chase (Jason) Fisher, a pharmacy student. Everyone who encountered Holly and Chase knew they would be spending their lives together. Their deep devotion to each other was immediately apparent to everyone around them. After a beautiful courtship, they were engaged in September of 1995 as Holly began teaching at Lemon Bay High School alongside her parents, while Chase was completing his doctorate work in pharmacy. Holly and Chase's love story continued with their marriage on July 20, 1996. The newlyweds lived in Orlando for a year before moving back to the Venice/ North Port area to be closer to family. They were soon blessed with twin daughters, Brooke and Summer on September 14, 1998. The family continued to grow with the exciting arrival of August (Auggie) on August 27, 2001. Holly's dedication to her children showed in everything she did from hosting massive sleepovers, church events, soccer celebrations, and swimming parties, as well as bringing the kids to piano lessons, cheerleading, volleyball, cross-country, soccer, gymnastics, and a myriad of volunteer activities. As her family grew, so did her love of animals. Holly was known for taking in stray animals, which led to her active participation in Big Dog Ranch Rescue. She organized many foster events, determined to find the perfect fit of owner and dog. Holly was a school teacher at several schools in Florida, including Venice High School, Lemon Bay High School and Heron Creek Middle School. She was always interested in improving students' experiences and impacting their lives significantly. Holly continuously spent her own money to buy school supplies, tickets for dances, athletic shoes for students to participate in sports, registrations for sporting events, food when they were hungry, and countless rewards to motivate her students. She would offer rides to school, as well as to events such as animal adoption functions for Big Dog Ranch Rescue and numerous 5K races. She was an avid runner who helped organize many local 5K races; and when she had the opportunity to participate in races she consistently won medals for her performance. In 2008, she reached new heights by running the Disney Marathon with her husband and her dad. Her humanitarian efforts were not limited to her community, or even to this continent. Holly, along with daughters Brooke and Summer, went on a mission trip to Ecuador to aid the impoverished residents in several communities, as well as to minister to the people who lived there. In typical ""Holly fashion"" she, upon discovering a yard populated by many homeless cats, drove several miles to the nearest store to buy large bags of cat food to feed them. No person or 4-legged creature went unnoticed by Holly. Her mission in life was to make their lives better. Holly's impact at Heron Creek Middle School should not be forgotten. She always tried to achieve a level of excellence in education that meshed her students' understanding about World History and Geography in the most creative, hands-on way possible. Annually, Holly would craft and produce original plays, such as The Murder of King Tut, The Greek God and Goddesses Interview Show, The View From Mount Olympus, and The Trial of Marco Polo. As she worked tirelessly gathering costumes and props, Chase would work alongside her to add sound and technology to these dynamic productions. Her dedication to students did not stop there. Holly was a coach for the track team, instilling a love of running in her students. She loved chaperoning the school dances where she could connect with more students and let her creativity shine when setting up decorations. Some of the dances were ""80's Retro"", ""Arcade"", ""Jurassic World"", ""Glow in the Dark"", and ""Frozen"". She served as a mentor for the National Honor Society and Student Government; and, in addition, was involved in the Feed the Hungry Program and was the coordinator for the Cambridge Program. Holly and Chase were two of the founding members of New Hope Community Church in North Port and hosted all of the first services at their home. Holly was the original organizer and coordinator of the church school program while Chase was director of worship for the worship team. Holly's love of people, and her natural enthusiasm to connect people with each other, allowed the church to grow each year. Holly's life was full of zest, always living to the fullest. It was effortless and natural for her to help anyone and everyone. Whether it was paying someone's rent, caring for a neighbor's child, or going on a mission trip, she never stopped helping and demonstrating kindness. As Holly touched so many lives, she will surely be missed in her North Port community. As a lasting tribute to Holly's legacy a 5K Memorial Race will be held on Mother's Day. The event will take place, this year, on May 14th. The race will start and end at Heron Creek Middle School. More details are forthcoming. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to be given to the Fisher Children Scholarship Fund, 4225 Doblins Road, North Port, FL 34287.
