Holly Jo Goad, 45, of Cloquet passed away on Thursday, September 22, 2022 in Essentia Health-Duluth. She was born on March 4, 1977 in Moose Lake to Larry and Penny Nelson. Holly attended school in Bruno, Moose Lake and Cloquet graduating in 1995. On July 6, 2002 Holly married Mark Goad in Carlton. Holly was a cook at the Red Oak Inn in Sturgeon Lake and was a cook and kitchen aide at both the Cloquet Community Memorial Hospital and Moose Lake Mercy Hospital. She started her daycare business “Holly’s Lil’ Dollies” in 2007 until closing it in August of 2022. She loved to play pool and pull tabs. What she loved most of all was seeing her kids and grandkids. She was preceded in death by her dad, Larry Nelson; her son, Levi Anderson; her brother, Perry Nelson; her grandparents; and a cousin, Carla Schneider. Holly will be deeply missed by her husband, Mark; sons, Tyler Anderson and Perry Goad; daughter, Shelby Goad; step-children, Erika (Gage Follett) Goad and Dakota (Allainie) Goad; sister, Dianna Nelson; step-dad and mother, Daniel and Penny Maki; step-mother, Nancy Nelson; grandbabies, Maddix, Malakye, Scarlett, Xander and Krue; and nieces, nephews and many friends. Visitation: Noon until the 1:00 p.m. memorial service, Sunday, October 2, 2022 in Atkins Northland Funeral Home, 801 14th Street, Cloquet. A luncheon will follow the service in the fireside room of the funeral home.
