Ridgeway - Hubert E. Lail - Funeral services for Hubert E. Lail, 87, of Ridgeway, will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at the chapel of Thompson Funeral Home at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia. Pastor Mark Bredholt will officiate. Interment, with US Army honors, will follow the service in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Andrew Lail, Adam Lail, Alex Lail and Max Reeder will serve as Pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Zachary Smith and Zane Smith. Mr. Lail passed away Saturday, November 11, 2017. Born in Ridgeway, he was a son of the late Olin Lail and Leona Carrol Lail. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who enjoyed the outdoors and electrical work. Hubert honorably served his country in the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He will be missed by all who knew him. Hubert is survived by his children; son, Wayne Lail (Cathy), of Irmo; daughters, Susan Reeder of Columbia, Marie Smith (Mark) of Lexington; grandchildren, Kelly Alsup , Andrew Lail, Adam Lail, Alex Lail, Heather Hines (Joshia), Maegan Reeder, Max Reeder, Zachary Smith, Zane Smith, Noelle Smith; great-grandchildren, Ethan and Ellie Alsup, Gabrielle Bair, Landon, Emalee, Morgan Anderson and Alexander Smith; expectant grandson, Benjamin Reeder, expectant granddaughter, Riley Chambers; brothers, William "Bill" Lail, James Lail, Olin "Bud" Lail, Robert "Bob" Lail, Grady Lail. In addition to his parents, Hubert was predeceased by his first wife, Betty Price Lail; second wife, Patricia "Pat" Elrod Lail; brothers, Frank Lail, Colon Lail.
