Ira Akens, Jr. was born on August 13, 1942 in Demopolis, Alabama to Ira Victor Akens and Muriel Elizabeth Noland. He was a United States Air Force veteran and also a carpenter in the construction industry. Ira is survived by sons, Ira, Geoff and Thomas Akens; and grandson, Alex Akens. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
