James "Bubba" Elmer Bordeaux

A memorial service celebrating the life of James E. "Bubba" Bordeaux, III, 65, of West Columbia, SC will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2013 in Thompson Funeral Home Chapel at Greenlawn Memorial Park, 845 Leesburg Road, Columbia, SC 29209 with Pastor Mark Bredholt officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until the hour of the service on Friday at the funeral home. A private inurnment will be held at a later date in Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Harvest Hope Food Bank in "Bubba's" memory. On-line condolences may be sent to www.thompsonsfuneral.com. "Bubba" as he was affectionately called by his family and friends departed this earthly life on Sunday, December 22, 2013 after a brief illness. He was born in Wilmington, NC to James Elmer Bordeaux, Jr. and Virginia Holmes Bordeaux on July 8, 1948. Mr. Bordeaux had a successful career in real estate and property management in the Columbia area for 40 years. "Bubba" was predeceased by his father, James Elmer Bordeaux, Jr.; and his sister, Virginia (Jinko) Worth. Surviving are his loving and devoted wife, Linda Hunter Bordeaux of the home; his daughters, Angela Bordeaux West (Eric) and Christa Bordeaux McMillan (Scott) both of Charlotte, NC; his mother, Virginia H. Bordeaux of St. Petersburg, FL; three grandchildren, Brandon McMillan, Rebecca West, and Mitchell West all of Charlotte, NC; a nephew, Jacques Bordeaux of St. Petersburg, FL; other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly.
