James H. Claypool, Jr.
May 20th, 1943 - November 24th, 2022
With deep sorrow we announce the passing of James H. Claypool, Jr. on November 24, 2022. James was born on May 20, 1943, in Louisville, Ky., to James H. Claypool and Corine Claypool. Was discharged from the Army in 1967 and made his home in California. Worked and lived in San Francisco for three years before moving to Seaside. Worked for the City of Seaside for 32 years, served on the Community Foundation Board, Seaside/Sand City Chamber, CHISPA and Monterey Bay Blues Festival Board. Received the Certificate of Special Congressional Recognition in recognition of outstanding and invaluable service to the community. James is survived by his wife, Mary, brother Ronnie, sisters, Barbara, Joyce, Sarah; 2 daughters Brandi and Charlotte, step-daughter Janine. Grandchildren, Brittany, Brandon Nia. Alexan-dria, Matthew, Jonquis, Jamaree, great grandchild Gensis. Visitation at Greater Victory Temple, 1620 Broadway, Seaside from 11 - 2 pm, Memorial at 3:30pm at the Central Coast Veterans Cemetery, 2900 Parker Flats Cutoff Rd, Seaside.
