James E. Conley, Jr. (“Jim”) of Aurora, CO passed away on March 5, 2018. Mr. Conley was born on January 30, 1939, in Denver, CO to James A. and Hazel G. Conley. He served in the Marine Corps, Army, and Navy, receiving many honors including a Purple Heart, a Bronze Star and a Silver Star which was awarded on May 26, 1967. In between his time spent in the military, Jim worked for the family cement business, J.A. Conley & Sons. After his military service, he spent over thirty years working for the United States Postal Service until his retirement. Mr. Conley took extreme pride in his work. He was also an avid hunter, sports fan, and conversationalist. Jim is survived by his wife, Ethanette “April” Conley, daughter Michelle Waugh, sons Shawn and Donny Conley and Donny’s wife, Sarah. He is predeceased by his son, Jamey. He leaves behind a granddaughter Victoria and three grandsons, Kameron, Fischer, and Owen, as well as his beloved dogs whom he referred to as his “babies.” Jim is also survived by his sister Patricia Stark and brother-in-law Stan of Odessa, MO, sister Lucinda McElroy of Westminster, CO, brother Gregory Conley and sister-in-law Debra of Ft. Lupton, CO, and brother Michael Conley and sister-in-law Linda of Howard, CO. He is predeceased by sisters Claudia Carlson of Commerce City, CO and Roberta Kroner of Hubbard, OH. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews will also miss Jim dearly.
