James W. Daniel Sr. of Auburndale, FL, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 from Alzheimer's disease. He was 89. Born in Crenshaw County, AL on August 20th. 1922. He came to central Florida from Alabama in 1936. He was a retired Supervisor with the Polk County Road Dept. He was a veteran of World War II, having served with the 324th. Airdrome Sqdn. In the South Pacific. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, and his son, William H. Daniel. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Daniel of Riverview, FL, Sons, James W. Daniel Jr. of Melbourne, FL, David Daniel of Johnson City, TN, Daughter, Alane Richardville of Babson Park, FL, Two grandsons, Five granddaughters, several great grandchildren; Three step sons, Ricky, David, and Billy Shields. Three step daughters, Frances Warren, Sylvia McPherson, and Lola Fuqua. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 to 11AM at Oak Ridge Funeral Care, Winter Haven. Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL. In lieu of flowers, contributions an be made to Good Shepherd Hospice, or the Alzheimer's Assoc.
