James "Jim" Bernard Donnelly

James B. Donnelly was born in Pueblo, Colorado on March 28, 1935. He was the son of Palmer O. and Mildred F. (Leftwich) Donnelly of Pueblo, Colorado. He graduated from Central High School in Pueblo in 1953, then enlisted in the Air Force and served four years. Jim studied electrical engineering at Colorado State University and graduated with a BSEE in 1961. After graduation, Jim moved to Mesa, Arizona where he met his wife Andrea and worked as an engineer at Motorola for six years. Jim and Andrea then moved to Colorado Springs with their infant daughter Kecia in 1967. In Colorado Springs, Jim worked as an engineer at Hewlett Packard Company until he retired in 1999. In his early years in The Springs, Jim enjoyed four-wheeling and camping with his family and friends, hiking, motorcycling, shooting and later was an avid bicyclist until he injured his feet in 1992.Jim gave his life to Jesus Christ and was baptized at New Life Church on Easter Sunday of 2001. In June of 2012, Jim's house was destroyed by the Waldo Canyon Fire along with many memories but he was thankful for his faith in the Lord Jesus and the many friends who helped him recover and rebuild. He went home to be with the Lord on December 9, 2018. Jim enjoyed attending New Life Church, fellowshipping with his brothers and sisters in Christ Jesus, watching the Broncos and eating out with friends.Jim's favorite scripture was John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to Father except through me." He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Gordon.Jim is survived by his beloved daughter, Kecia (Tom) Jerome of Geneseo, New York; his grandson and "Best Bud", Steven Donnelly.
