James Henry Duval
August 12th, 1943 - July 10th, 2024
James H. “Jim” “Jimmy” Duval, the longtime Golf Professional at Mission Valley Country Club in Laurel Florida, had an early Tee Time with his dad and The Big Guy on Wednesday July 10th. in Venice, Florida. Jim was a veteran of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. Born In Schenectady, New York to Henry James “Hap” Duval (PGA) and Anne Hodgson Duval. Jim was a 50-year member of the P.G.A. of America, President of the P.G.A. North Florida Section, inductee into the P.G.A Hall of Fame North Florida, named “One of the Top Teachers of the Year” by Golf Magazine in 2001, and a member of the congregation and vestry of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church for 40 years. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years Betty L. “Betsy” Duval of Venice Florida, Scott Duval (Son) Ginger Duval, Chloe, and Caleb of Atlanta Georgia, Jay Duval (Son), Amy Duval, Abigail, Jacob, and Chloe of San Antonio Texas, and Ben Duval (Son) and Bowden of Englewood Florida, Robert “Bobby” Duval of Ponte Verda Beach Florida, and Rebekah and Blaine Beauchamp of Venice Florida. Jim has been proceeded in death by Henry James “Hap” Duval, Ann Hodgson Duval, Albert “Unc” Duval, Brent Duval, and Diane Duval. Celebration of Life will be held at St Mark’s Episcopal Church in Venice Florida on July 25th at 10:00am. In lieu of flowers, please send contributions in memoriam to American Cancer Society, K9s For Warriors, National World War II Museum, and Coastal Conservation Association of Florida. Go Noles!!!
