James Roy Gray

James Gray, 71, died July 23, 2019, at Dobson House, Chandler, AZ. At his request, no service will be held. He was born February 23, 1948, in Washington, IN to Roy Hall and Mary Lucille Gray. James graduated from Emmerich Manual High School in Indianapolis, IN in 1966. He attended college at Grace Bible College in Wyoming, MI and married Karen S. Rock on June 15, 1968. After graduation, he served as Pastor in Four churches in Evansville, IN, Carter Lake, IA, Gllenwood Springs, CO, and Linton, IN. While serving in Glenwood Springs he started a small literature ministry called Trinity Bible Studies and then in 1986 they moved to Phoenix, AZ and the ministry was renamed Berean Advocate Ministries. He became the Director. He served with Bible Doctrines to Live By writing Sunday School Material. Mr. Gray is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen S. Rock Gray; brother, Ronald J. and wife Linda Gray, Beech Grove, IN; a nephew Steven and wife Molly Gray, a great niece Yvette, a great nephew Matthew, Brownsburg, IN. Cousin’s Mary Sneak, Laura Julian, Bill and wife Sylvia Gray, IN, and Robert and wife Linda Gray, CO. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Dan and Ila Miller, Cornetsville, IN and McCrillis and Clara Gray, Petersburg, IN, His parent’s Roy Hall and Mary Lucille Gray, Indianapolis, IN, Aunt’s and Uncle’s, Uncle Hubert and wife Irene Miller, Washington, IN, Norman and Sarah Miller, Plainsville, IN, Henry Gray, Ron Gray, Bill Gray, John Gray, Elsie Osman, Cousin’s George Gray, Carl Gray, Hazel Best, Jen Jett, IN, and nephew Christopher Gray, Beech Grove, IN.
