James Olivares
May 23rd, 1932 - March 22nd, 2012
James Olivares was born on May 23, 1932 in Waipahu, Hawaii, and passed away peacefully on March 22, 2012, at his home. He was the youngest child of Virginia (Gouveia) Olivares and Alfonso Afong Olivares. His older brothers, Adam, Richard and Joseph preceded him in death. His two sisters, Lydia (Semon) Dano and Bernice Marchan reside in Waipahu, Hawaii. He is survived by his wife, Adeline (Peralta). Jimmy and Ade would have celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary on April 7. He is also survived by four children Charlene (Herbert) Huihui, Celeste (John) Hoering, Claire (Les Hanamaikai), and Curtis (Diane), 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 1:00 p.m., at Mission Mortuary, 450 Camino El Estero, Monterey with a reception to follow at the VFW Post 811, 3131 Crescent Ave., Marina. Cremation will follow. A Rosary and Catholic Church Service will be held in Hawaii at a later date. Please visit www.missionmortuary.com to leave condolences for the family.
