James David Ramirez
December 28th, 1964 - April 27th, 2020
On Monday, April 27, 2020, James David Ramirez, a loving son and father, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 55. James was born on December 28, 1964 in Manhattan, New York to Agustin Ramirez, and Margot Perez-Ramirez. He most recently resided in Thornton, Colorado. He served as a Quartermaster for the United States Navy from 1984-1990. After his military career, James went on to become a respected Law Enforcement Officer with the Virginia Beach Sheriff's Office, Norfolk Police Department and Virginia State Police. Much like King David, James was a man after God's own heart. As a proud patriot, he had a passion for his country, the 2nd amendment, his Puerto Rican heritage, Yankees baseball, and salsa music. James was preceded in death by his father, Agustin. He is survived by his long-time girlfriend, Frances Anza of Thornton, CO, his mother Margot Perez-Ramirez of Ocala, FL; his two children, Doreen Michelle Duncan of Castle Rock, CO and Joshua David Ramirez of Westminster, CO; his brothers, Eric Michael, and girlfriend, Luz of Atlanta, GA, Edwin Agustin, of Ocala, FL; his three nieces, Maria Teresa of Batesville, Indiana, Christine Dawn, and fianc Hillary of Newport News, VA, and Kathryn Elaine Ramirez of Virginia Beach, VA; three great-nephews, and two great-nieces; many first and second cousins including Anthony, and Freddy Luscher, along with his beloved dogs, Justice, Oreo, Bandit, grand-dog, Todd and "special cat friend" Sunshine. Due to the outbreak of COVID-19, a viewing will be held at Romero Family Funeral Home in Denver, CO (Date & Time TBD), interment will be at Pikes Peak Veteran's National Cemetery in Colorado Springs, CO. A committal service with military funeral honors will be held at Pikes Peak National Cemetery at a later date when the pandemic restrictions have been lifted. The family wishes memorial contributions be made to the COVID-19 Relief Fund or the Multiple Symptom Atrophy Coalition in James's honor.
