James “Jim” Charles Toth Sr., Petty Officer 1st Class, United States Navy, (Ret) passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, July 17, 2023, in Peyton, Colorado. He was born on Tuesday, November 19, 1940 in Hilo, Hawaii to Charles and Elizabeth Patton. Jim proudly served in the United States Navy from December 30, 1959, to April 6, 1979, when he retired as an Electronic Technician 1st Class. He married the love of his life, Earlene Rachel Cartrette, on February 25, 1964. Jim was preceded in death by his mother, Elizabeth; and his father, Charles. Those left to cherish Jim's love and memories include his loving wife, Earlene Toth; son, James (Karen) Toth Jr.; daughters, Robin Bennet, and Stacy (Lee) Shaver; sisters, Victoria Smith, and Stephanie (Oscar) Mendez; grandchildren, Kennedy, James, Christopher, Patrick, Ryan, and JD; great-grandchildren, Jeremy, Alexander, and Alexia; and numerous extended family and friends. Graveside Service with full military honors, 10:00AM, Wednesday, July 26, 2023, Pikes Peak National Cemetery, 10545 Drennan Road, Colorado Springs, Colorado 80925.
